The primary goal of the retail sales manager is to ensure that outstanding guest service is being delivered while promoting high quality retailing standards to ensure customer satisfaction and increased profitability.
The retail sales manager will achieve sales goals through effective marketing and promotion of merchandise, planning and execution of successful key promotions, special sales, daily program for specific cruise itinerary and maximizing passenger flow on shop floor.
It will be the retail sales manager's responsibility to ensure that merchandise is received, available for sale and displayed according to directives, to maintain and control inventory levels and to analyze sales and inventory reports.
The retail sales manager will be in charge of motivating and coaching a sales team to help them achieve and and exceed the sales goals. The manager will train staff on customer service skills, selling techniques, product knowledge, safety procedures, proper operation of POS systems, proper reporting of potential loss.
